We are pleased to announce the second edition of the Montreal Business Schools’ Ph.D. Symposium, which will take place at Coeur des Sciences, UQAM, on February 9 and 10, 2023.
This symposium is an opportunity to bring together doctoral students from all specializations of the joint Ph.D. program in (Business) Administration (HEC Montréal, ESG-UQAM, Concordia University, and McGill University) to shine a spotlight on the research and contributions of graduate students in a spirit of collaboration, interdisciplinarity, knowledge transmission, and popularization.
The theme of this edition of the Ph.D. Symposium, “Re-imagining scholarship, ensemble”, underscores the committee’s desire to encourage Ph.D. students to engage in academic life and to foster collaboration and collegiality within our community. The Symposium is an opportunity to promote different trajectories of scholarship, stimulate curiosity, and create a safe space for cooperation and learning. We aim also to create spaces of reflections and dialogue on the future of scholarship, the challgenges that we are facing and the alternatives paths that we could undertake.
This year’s theme is an opportunity for Ph.D. students, regardless of seniority and experience, to share what they find interesting, impactful, and inspirational within their research topic in different ways. The theme also aims to foster a post-COVID reunion platform and to stimulate conversation among junior and senior students and fellow researchers in matters of interest within the graduate research community, including the challenges of creating or joining a community in doctoral studies.
To that end, this bilingual symposium will take place in-person over the course of two afternoons (12 to 5 pm), with a variety of activities (presentations, posters session, workshop development, conferences, 5@7, and more). The core of the symposium will feature sessions of student oral presentations, poster presentations, and workshops.
